JEWELRY

What if I want a different size necklace or bracelet?
- Custom orders are welcome!  Bracelet Size Chart
- Special sizes, designs, clasps, etc.  Just send me a message.  I have over 18 years of professional jewelry design, and I am happy to help you with your custom orders.

How do I use the diffuser jewelry?
- Lava stones are wonderful little natural diffusers for on the go!   The lava rocks are naturally porous and absorb your essential oils.
- Add 1 drop of essential oil to your lava stone.  Allow the stone to dry/absorb a brief moment.  If you like you can evenly distribute it with a cotton swab.   Dilute essential oils properly that come into contact with your skin.  When the scent fades, just reapply.   I like to keep my jewelry  in a glass jar when I am not wearing it. Some base essential oil scents will stay on my jewels for a few days!

Will I receive the jewelry item pictured on the website?
- Sometimes, but not always.  All stones are unique and can vary in color and size.

What is gold fill?
- 1/20 yellow gold filled uses a karat gold overlay which is then bonded to a brass inner core.  Gold fill is an excellent alternative that won’t tarnish or break the bank.

What if I have a metal allergy?
- The lavalets are made with gunmetal, silver plated, pewter or base metal, may not be suitable to some metal allergies.  If you have an issue I can customize your design without metal beads or metal alternatives.

How do I care for my sterling silver?
- Keep your sterling silver away from moisture, don't swim with your jewelry.  Sterling silver can tarnish easily as it’s not rhodium plated.  We recommend keeping products in a closed container between uses.  The ‘silica do not eat packs’ can help keep moisture at bay in your jewelry box.  You can always send in your jewelry for cleaning, just ask about pricing.

Do you do jewelry repairs?
- Yes I do repairs on beaded and wire wrapped jewelry.  I recommended having your beaded jewelry restrung or inspected every 1-2 years. Ask for restring fees.  Craftsmanship is guaranteed for necklaces, bracelets and earrings for 12 months from purchase.  If your beaded jewelry happens to break, please collect as much of it as you can.  You can use tape to prevent the remaining beads from falling off the wire or string.

ESSENTIAL OILS

How do I use my essential oils?
- Caution: Keep out of reach of children and pets.  Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.  Use caution with essential oils, dilute properly.
- If Pregnant, nursing or have any medical condition consult a healthcare professional before use.  Consult healthcare providers.
- For skin irritation or accidental exposure , use a carrier oil such as olive, coconut or any cooking oil immediately to wipe off the area.   Wash with mild soap and water.  Consult healthcare providers.

SOAP

What makes handmade soap special?
- Most "soaps" on the market today are actually synthetic detergents.   Take a look at the ingredients closely.  Market bars will clean, but they can also strip your skin.  These detergents and commercial soaps sometimes use animal fats, synthetic lathering ingredients, petroleum, sulfates, parabens, artificial scents, fragrance, artificial colors and mica.  No toxic chemicals found on this site.  Many of my ingredients are found at your local market, homegrown, wild crafted and herb store.  Exotic butters used are only fair-trade.  I use only excellent ingredients that are derived from nature-  Clay, herbs, roots, vegetables, fruits, salts, resins, plant based butters, plant based oils, and essential oils.....just to name a few! :)

Why sodium hydroxide/lye?
- I make the soaps the old-fashioned way, cold process.  You cannot make soap without lye.  Originally you would get lye from filtering water through wood ash.  Modern day we use sodium hydroxide / potassium hydroxide.  I let the experts provide the lye so the concentration is under control.  I use food grade lye, that is used to cause a chemical reaction and change the amazing oils into soap!  When the soap is first created it takes about 24-48 hours for the lye to change the vegetable oils to soap.  After 24 hours the lye has transformed, leaving soap and glycerin.  It then takes about 6 weeks or more for the water in the soap to evaporate and make a hardened bar.

How do I keep my soap between uses? Shelf life?
- Unopened soaps should be kept in a cool, dark and open air area.
Once open- I recommend using a well-draining soap dish to allow soap to dry between uses and prevent it from sticking to the counter.  Soap dishes are great to prevent any discoloration  of countertops/ tiles.    Natural soap does tend to wash away quickly because there are additional oils unincorporated for extra moisture and conditioning.
- Soap does have an increased lather over time but most bars should be used within about 6 months.  You can always use your bar after this time but the aroma can fade.  Soap additives such as aloe, vegetables and fruits may shorten your shelf life.  There are no synthetic chemicals or preservatives to prolong the shelf life of these soaps as we don't want to use anything synthetic on the largest organ skin!   Botanical ingredients such as spirulina can fade in color over time.

Tested on animals?
- No! I test my products on myself, family and friends.  :)

- Are these soaps vegetarian or vegan??
Yes, I use no animal fats!   Please be advised some are vegetarian, a few items may contain local honey or beeswax.

Can everyone use these soaps?
- Some essential oils, butters and herbs are not suitable for some.  Please read the labels if you have any allergies.
- If you are pregnant, nursing, or have any physical condition please consult with a medical professional before usage.
- If you experience any skin irritation discontinue use immediately.  Avoid contact with the eyes.  For external use only.

COMFORT

How do I use the pillows?
- Definitely keep your pillow dry and clean. Replace your pillow every 4-6 months.

Here are a few options using your pillow...

  1. Use at room temperature.
  2. Microwave- place pillow in clean town and microwave for 15 seconds. If it's not warm, flip and do another 5 seconds. Not too hot!
  3. Chill in the fridge or freezer - keep dry and clean in the fridge or freezer.

If your eye pillow's scent is fading a bit you can gently roll the pillow and crush the herbs to release more aroma.

If you are pregnant, nursing or have any physical condition please consult with a medical professional before use.
